Exterior description and setting

A single-storey gabled hall with a replacement asbestos slated roof, smooth cement rendered walls, lined, and blocked, with rusticated quoins. Windows are timber sliding sash, vertically hung, 2 over 2, with horns, with simplified Gothic tracery bars. Cast iron and PVC rainwater goods. Three-bay front elevation with round headed central doorway flanked by round headed windows. Above the doorway is a shield panel in sandstone inscribed ‘Kilwaughter Orange Hall 1873’.

Steel replacement doors below a fanlight with circular tracery. Sandstone cills.

The building stands on a corner at a crossroads in a rural area with a few houses adjacent. Concrete area in front, with rendered boundary wall containing original cast iron pedestrian gate.

This is a Victorian building of very little architectural merit but is worth recording from the point of view of local historic interest and community value.
