The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
2 bay wide 2½ storey house with basement and with narrow back return.
Ground floor has a central double double hung sliding sash 2 pane window. On each side 4 panelled doors with rectangular plain fanlights. At 1st floor2 no. double hung sliding sash 2 pane windows, cills extend to form stringcourse across façade. Deep frieze under gutter. Walls smooth rendered and painted. ½ round gutter, single metal downpipe. Single large dormer above gutter, faced with smooth rendered walling, gabled, plain barge with slight overhang. Slated roof.
While the gateway adjoining No. 49 would appear to be part of it. This is not so.
To the rear back return has a 2 way pitch roof at right angles to the main block. There are a variety of window shapes and a fire escape leading from a double hung sliding sash window at 1st floor of main building. Above it a flat roof dormer with 4 pane window, 2 of which top hung. Natural slated roofs.
Historical information
Probably built later than No. 47 c 1900. The owner carried out alterations in 1984.

Evaluation
A simple turn of the 20th cent. terrace house much modified internally and externally in 1984: of no distinction externally to the front, and appearance substantially altered to the rear.
