The National Monuments Service's description
Described in 1977 as a ringfort situated on the N end of a rise on low hillock in good pasture land with extensive views to the SW, W and NW. Site consists of a small, roughly circular area (diam. 30m N-S; 29.5m E-W) defined by a dry-stone wall (H 1.75m) with no evidence of an external fosse. There is a small gap in the wall at NE. It is unclear if this is an original entrance feature, however the wall facing on the S side of this gap has been well built suggesting that this gap was used an entrance feature. The field boundaries that intersected the perimeter of the monument at NE, S and NW as shown on the OS 6-inch maps have all been removed. The enclosing drystone wall is quite substantial and is built using a mixture of large and small boulders. The wall acts as an external facing of the scarp from E-S-W while on the N it survives as a freestanding drystone wall. The date of this wall is uncertain and it could be post-medieval in date. The wall may incorporate sections of an original drystone cashel wall.
