The National Monuments Service's description
In grassland, situated on a NW-facing slope of rising ground in upland region overlooking river valley immediately to NW, higher ground to SE. Located on edge of ravine in a location similar to cliff edge forts. Irregular-shaped area (dims. 40m NE-SW x 32m E-W) roughly rectangular enclosed on two sides by a poorly preserved, much degraded, barely visible earthen bank (Wth 2m; H 0.2m). Bank only visible from W through N to NE. Depicted as a D-shaped enclosure on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map and as a partial enclosure on the 1903 ed. OS 6-inch map. Enclosure levelled on the upslope mainly with enclosing element only visible on the downslope. Originally may have been a cliff-edge enclosure (int. diam. 40m) which was partially levelled between 1840 and 1903.
