The National Monuments Service's description

In woodland on an E-facing slope of rising ground in upland area with good views in all directions, now restricted by planted woodland. In recently planted ash tree plantation. The planting has been kept 15m away from the base of the monument on all sides. Roughly D-shaped area (diam. 24m N-S; 28m E-W) with straight side (L 28m) at E, enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 1.6m; base Wth 3m; ext. H 0.4-1m; int. H 0.4m) and outer fosse (base Wth 2.5m; top Wth 3.5m; ext. D 0.9m) visible from S to W, elsewhere filled in, with possible entrance gap (Wth 4m) at E. Gap (Wth 1.5m) in bank at W, possible modern gap, second gap in bank (Wth 2m) at S also appears to be a modern gap. Interior covered in thorn bushes and perimeter of ringfort planted with hazel beech and sycamore trees.
