The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a NW-facing slope towards the base of a hill, under tillage. The site was inspected in 1957 and described as being 'apparently a large ringfort, with very slight bank and external fosse, and very heavily overgrown with scrub' (OPW Correspondance, 1.8.1957). The site is now levelled although the outline of the bank is discernible as a circular cropmark (diam. 42.3m E-W). The N portion of the site is truncated by a gravel roadway. An E-W field boundary delineates the N extent of the site. The interior slopes to the NW.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
