The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located close to the NW boundary of the townland, straddling a rise in undulating terrain; views good but not extensive.
Roughly circular, slightly raised area (diam. c. 21m) defined by a scarp (H 1.6m at E, 1m at NNW) outside which it is enclosed at S–NNE by a fosse (Wth 2m) with traces of a possible external bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.4m) surviving as a low rise, obscured by gorse, at NW–N. The fosse and possible outer bank are not evident on the E side, where there is a natural fall of ground.
The interior slopes down markedly from centre to the E, but is almost entirely engulfed in gorse and difficult to inspect. There is a gap (Wth 2.6m) in the scarp at SSE defined on its W side by a low bank that extends across the fosse; it may mark an original entrance. A field fence/townland boundary skirts the W side of the rath, respecting its curve.
