The National Monuments Service's description
In wettish pasture, located a few meters E of a N-flowing stream. A concrete wall lies a few meters N of the rath bordering the N5. Bohola village is located immediately to W.
Raised circular area (32m N−S; 32m E−W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.35m at N; int. H 0.45m at N, 1.1m at E; ext. H 1.8 at N).
The bank is cut vertically externally and is consistently high (1.8-2m) and relatively narrow (2.5-3m) around its circuit. Internally, the bank is highest on the E arc, and is very low on the W half, reduced almost to a scarp. A hint of a depression (Wth c. 2.5m) outside the bank, clearest at W, may indicate a fosse.
There is a gap (Wth 1m) at NE, but it is not clear if this is an original entrance; several narrow gaps around the circuit have been eroded by cattle.
The interior is fairly level, with a very slight slope down from centre to the NE quadrant.
The bank is ringed with ash and sycamore trees, and there are a few blackthorn bushes in the interior.
