The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located toward the NE end of a small NE−SW ridge, at the break of slope on the gently sloping SE-facing side. It overlooks a small, rocky stream valley c. 100m to W. The Ox Mountains loom to E. The surrounding terrain is a mix of pasture, broken by rocky outcrops, and expanses of bog. Another rath (MA040-062) is located 200m to SW on the same ridge top.
Slightly raised circular area (21m NW−SE; 23m NE−SW) defined by a low bank (Wth 1.2m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.4m at SW, 0.55m at SE), reduced in parts to a scarp with a slight internal rim; at N it has a broad external slump. The interior mirrors the natural contours of the ridge, with a level area at NW, from where the ground slopes down to N and more markedly to E and SE. There is no clearly defined entrance feature. An arc of stony ground (Wth c. 3m) is evident on the slope outside the bank at S.
Grass and clumps of gorse in the interior; hawthorn ringing the perimeter.
