The National Monuments Service's description

In the graveyard (KK013-023001-) of Freshford church (KK013-023001-), 1m E of S end of E gable of C of I church. A large tapering limestone graveslab (L 1.84m; Wth at top 0.83m tapering to 0.69m at base; T 0.14m) with a depressed vertical band (Wth 0.09-0.1m) running from the top to the base of the slab, off centre on the dexter side. Within the band is a raised inscription in Roman capitals, in English, which is now difficult to read, but which Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 255) transcribed as, ‘HERE LEYS THE REVEREND FATHER SIR JOHN LALOR 163- [last figure left uncut]'. The slab is also listed by Cockerham (2009, 357).
