The National Monuments Service's description
In pastureland. This cashel was described by Redington (1916a, 53) as being levelled to the foundations with 'walls 6 ft. [1.8m] thick'. Another wall constructed of 'very large stones' was visible a few metres to the E. There was a 'gateway' on the E side of the inner wall but no corresponding gap was evident in the possible outer wall. There was a souterrain (GA096-114001-) in the S sector of the interior. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 159, no. 88) as a ‘very ruinous’ circular ‘Stone fort’ (diam. c. 26.8m) defined by a drystone wall. On inspection the monument was densely overgrown and the enclosing element was completely obscured.
