The National Monuments Service's description
This monument was partially excavated (Licence no. 04E1604) in advance of development. A multi-period site, this circular enclosure (c. 18.5m diam.) was located internal to enclosure (DU012-094002-). The ditch varies in width between 3.5m – 4.7m in width and a causeway (2.4m wide) was identified to the S, directly opposite the bridge of the outer enclosure. Two radiocarbon dates indicating an early 12th century AD date were recovered from the basal fill of the ditch. (Halliday 2008, 28). The E quadrant of the site was preserved in situ within open space.
