The National Monuments Service's description
This monument was excavated (Licence no. 04E1604) in advance of development. A multi-period site, the primary stratigraphic enclosure of the early medieval period is rectangular in plan (16.6m x 11m). Truncated by circular enclosures (DU012-094003-) to the N and E a radiocarbon date of 898-966 AD was attained from the upper fill of the enclosure ditch (Halliday 2008, 23).
