The National Monuments Service's description
In Charleville, on corner of Main and Broad Streets. Rectangular 2-storey structure of coursed limestone ashlar construction. Front elevation (W) of 3 bays with wide floating pediment, hipped roof behind parapet wall. Ground floor has 3-bay semicircular arcade with prominent key-stones, key stone of central arcade dated '1769'. String course (H c. 1m) rises over arches. First floor has three rectangular opes (flat-arched) with sash windows. South elevation of 1 bay, treated similarly to front elevation with ground-floor arcade and 1st-floor sash window. North elevation attached to adjacent building. Rear elevation has central lean-to addition covered by continuation of main roof; flanked by lower 2-storey hipped additions. South addition has door in S elevation with steps and iron railing. Ground floor of Market House used as shop, rear used as Court House.
