The National Monuments Service's description

On semi-karst ground in rough pasture, at the N end of a damp rush-covered area with some periodic surface water and land rising to the N. On the 1897 25-inch OS plan a spring is marked just to the NW. Indicated on a Geological Survey of Ireland map, and also reported by Tom Coffey (SMR file). Listed as one of several ‘Fulachta fiadh’ in the RMP (1996) under the number (CL010-101----). This fulacht fia comprises an irregular grass-covered oval mound (9.5m E-W; 6m N-S; H 0.5-0.8m) with a slight indent (Wth 2m; D 0.6m) on its N side, facing NNW. The W end of the mound overlies bare rock outcrop. There are three fulachta fia nearby: one (CL010-101002-) lies 3m to the SSE; another (CL010-101004-) lies 9m to the WSW; and a larger fulacht fia (CL010-101----) lies c. 13.5m to the ESE.
