The National Monuments Service's description

On semi-karst ground in rough pasture, at the N end of a damp rush-covered area with some periodic surface water and land rising to the N. On the 1897 25-inch OS plan a spring is marked just to the NW. Indicated on a Geological Survey of Ireland map, and also reported by Tom Coffey (SMR file). Listed as one of several ‘Fulachta fiadh’ in the RMP (1996) under the number (CL010-101----). This fulacht fia comprises a grass-covered, horseshoe-shaped mound (7m NE-SW; 6m NW-SE; H 0.45m) which is open to the SW and elsewhere enclosing a rush-covered interior space (2m NE-SW; 1.2m NW-SE; D 0.5m). There are three fulachta fia nearby: a larger one (CL010-101----) lies 4m to the E; another fulacht fia (CL010-101003-) lies 3m to the NNW; and another (CL010-101004-) lies c. 17m to the W.
