Historique

History
The place of Losmonerie is attested as a manse in the second half of the 14th century. It does not appear to have been the seat of a seigneury before the end of the 16th century. The present buildings consist of an L-shaped main dwelling, preceded by a kind of garden courtyard and dependencies of agricultural character surrounding a farmyard. The two spaces are separated by a door with stone pillars, flanked by two pavilions, one of which is a chapel. The main dwelling comprises a building (late 15th-early 16th century) with a circular staircase tower standing outside the building, fitted with a door of Flamboyant Gothic style, and a return wing added in the 17th century. A gallery with two levels presenting Renaissance decoration allows communication between these two wings. The lower level was animated by three arcades. The three bays of the second level are delimited by two central fluted columns and two end pilasters decorated with lozenges, discs and half-discs of Renaissance style. A pavilion body was added to the west of the south-west façade at an indeterminate date. The return wing was added during the 17th century. A vaulted cellar extends beneath the small central drawing room of the south wing. The dwelling bears the mark of reworking in the 18th and 19th centuries. The south wing of the main dwelling preserves painted decorations of the 17th century on the French ceiling in the great drawing room and in the passage between the central drawing room and the staircase tower. A painted fireplace of the same period is found in a bedroom on the first floor.
