Historique
Réalisée aux environs de 1875, la fontaine réservoir résulte de l'idée de recueillir l'eau de trois fontaines situées plus haut, de la stocker dans un réservoir situé à l'aplomb d'une fontaine monumentale, puis de la redistribuer aux bornes fontaines du cimetière des Carmes. La salle souterraine du réservoir est un ouvrage en brique formant une voûte avec lunettes en pénétration. Quatre piliers centraux supportent la fontaine érigée au-dessus. Celle-ci, exécutée par les ateliers de forge Durenne, comprend un vaste bassin circulaire en pierre, au centre duquel s'élève un chandelier d'eau en fonte à trois registres séparés par deux vasques superposées. Au-dessus du socle orné de mufles de lion, le deuxième niveau porte trois putti adossés soutenant la deuxième vasque à l'intérieur de laquelle se déverse l'eau jaillissant de l'urne sommitale. Dans le bassin sont posées les statues de six putti chevauchant des dauphins ou appuyés à une amphore.

History
Realized around 1875, the reservoir fountain results from the idea of collecting the water from three fountains situated higher up, storing it in a reservoir situated directly above a monumental fountain, and then redistributing it to the fountain hydrants of the Carmes cemetery. The underground chamber of the reservoir is a work in brick forming a vault with penetration lunettes. Four central pillars support the fountain erected above. This, executed by the Durenne forge workshops, comprises a vast circular stone basin, at the centre of which rises a three-tiered water candelabra in cast iron separated by two superposed basins. Above the base ornamented with lion's masks, the second level bears three putti backed together supporting the second basin inside which the water flowing from the summit urn is poured. In the basin are placed the statues of six putti riding dolphins or leaning against an amphora.
