Historique
Suite au tremblement de terre de 1490, Clermont n'a pas conservé un tissu urbain médiéval complet. Il reste quelques témoins épars, comme cette façade probablement du 14e siècle, présentant deux têtes sculptées aux extrémités du bandeau qui marque le premier étage. Le corps de logis a conservé des éléments anciens, dont une porte palière avec tympan et chapiteaux sculptés. La maison a été remaniée au 18e (escalier) puis au 19e siècle (percements en façade). La cage d'escalier abrite un escalier tournant à volées droites suspendues sur limon porteur, avec repos intermédiaire et palier à chaque étage. Les deux premières volées (premier étage) sont en pierre avec rampe d'appui en bois à balustres plats et départ en rouleau. Les étages supérieurs sont en bois avec retour de limon gauchi. Cet escalier est le seul de son genre à Clermont et peut être daté du 18e siècle d'après la forme des balustres en poire.

History
Following the earthquake of 1490, Clermont has not preserved a complete medieval urban fabric. There remain a few scattered witnesses, such as this facade probably of the 14th century, presenting two sculptured heads at the extremities of the band which marks the first floor. The body of dwelling has preserved old elements, including a landing door with tympanum and sculptured capitals. The house was reworked in the 18th century (staircase) then in the 19th century (openings in facade). The staircase cage houses a turning staircase with straight flights suspended on a load-bearing stringer, with intermediate landing and landing at each floor. The first two flights (first floor) are in stone with wood handrail with flat balusters and start in scroll. The upper floors are in wood with return of skew stringer. This staircase is the only one of its kind in Clermont and can be dated to the 18th century from the form of the pear-shaped balusters.
