Historique
La fosse n°2 d'Oignies fut l'une des fosses les plus importantes du bassin minier du Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Elle fut pressentie en 1934 pour devenir le siège de concentration de la compagnie. En 1937, réalisation du puits. Les travaux d'équipement, entamés en 1938, sont ralentis par la guerre. De 1938 à 1945, installation de la salle des machines, machine d'extraction et turbocompresseur. La concentration commença dès 1941 par la fermeture de la fosse 3. En 1943, le siège n°2 fut doté d'une machine à extraction à vapeur à deux cylindres horizontaux jumelés. History
Pit No. 2 at Oignies was one of the most important pits in the North-Pas-de-Calais mining basin. It was considered in 1934 to become the concentration headquarters of the company.
