Le monument a été inauguré une première fois en 1913 puis fut reconstruit en 1932, après la Grande Guerre, sous le même aspect et avec des matériaux identiques. Il était destiné à honorer la générosité de la Châtelaine ainsi qu'à célébrer la découverte, à son initiative, du charbon dans le parc de son domaine, en 1841. A l'origine, les sculptures furent réalisées par le sculpteur Charles Caby et refondues sur ces modèles initiaux lors de sa restauration avant d'être une nouvelle fois inauguré en juillet 1932.

History
The monument was inaugurated for the first time in 1913 and was rebuilt in 1932, after the Great War, in the same appearance and with identical materials. It was intended to honour the generosity of the Châtelaine as well as to celebrate the discovery, at her initiative, of coal in the park of her estate, in 1841. Originally, the sculptures were created by the sculptor Charles Caby and were recast from these initial models during its restoration before being inaugurated once again in July 1932.
