L'église de Cerisé date de l'époque romane. Sa nef unique, d'une grande simplicité, a conservé en ses murs gouttereaux des baies romanes à baie cintrée à une seule clef. L'église a subi plusieurs transformations : au 16e siècle, construction d'un clocher en charpente et modification de la nef, au 18e siècle, ouverture de nouvelles baies, au 19e siècle extension du chevet avec le décor. Des sondages effectués sur les murs de la nef ont révélé un ensemble de peintures murales du 14e siècle.

History
The church of Cerisé dates from the Romanesque period. Its single nave, of great simplicity, has retained in its eaves walls Romanesque openings with a round arch to a single keystone. The church underwent several transformations: in the 16th century, construction of a timber bell tower and modification of the nave, in the 18th century, opening of new openings, in the 19th century extension of the chevet with decoration. Surveys carried out on the walls of the nave revealed a series of 14th-century mural paintings.
