La construction du nouveau pavillon d'entrée de l'administration de la Société des Mines de Thivencelles et Fresnes-Midi semble remonter au tout début du 20ème siècle, ainsi qu'en témoignent ses caractéristiques stylistiques, en intégrant des éléments de l'architecture maniériste du début du 17ème siècle. Le pavillon central permettait l'accès à une cour intérieure bordée sur trois côtés par des édifices, à l'exception du sud limité par un mur de clôture. Après la Première guerre mondiale, la porte d'entrée fut modifiée : les vantaux en bois plein furent évidés pour recevoir des grilles aux initiales de la compagnie. La transformation correspond à la période où la société fut nationalisée. Un permis de construire datant de 1960 dévoile un projet de réorganisation avec fermeture du pavillon d'accès et comblement de tous les espaces intérieurs. History
The construction of the new entrance pavilion of the administration of the Société des Mines de Thivencelles et Fresnes-Midi appears to date back to the very beginning of the 20th century, as evidenced by its stylistic characteristics, incorporating elements of mannerist architecture from the early 17th century.
