Pour l'historique des fortifications, voir notice PA00091585. Situé au Lohic, au voisinage de la tour des Prisonniers, le parc à boulets fut construit en 1848 sur un terrain cédé par la ville à l'autorité millitaire. Il s'ajoutait au parc déjà existant dans la citadelle. Enclos de plan rectangulaire constitué de murs de moellons de granit, il était entouré d'arbres plantés par l'ingénieur Louis Lazare d'Ajot en 1773.

History
For the history of the fortifications, see notice PA00091585. Located at Lohic, in the vicinity of the Prisoners' Tower, the shot yard was built in 1848 on land ceded by the city to the military authority. It was added to the yard already existing in the citadel. Enclosed rectangular plan consisting of granite rubble stone walls, it was surrounded by trees planted by engineer Louis Lazare d'Ajot in 1773.
