Située à l'extrémité du fort de Papégaut, la petite poudrière fut édifiée en 1817, en remplacement d'un magasin existant dans la tour des Gâvres. Bâtiment de plan rectangulaire construit en moellons de granit, ceinturé de murs élevés et dont la voûte de couvrement est en berceau maçonné de briques : c'est une réplique, sans éléments de monumentalité, de la grande poudrière construite dans les années 1750-1752 face à la tour de Nesmond

History
For the history of the fortifications, see notice PA00091585. Situated at the extremity of the fort of Papégaut, the small powder magazine was built in 1817, in replacement of an existing storehouse in the tower of Gâvres. Rectangular-plan building constructed in granite rubble stone, surrounded by high walls and whose covering vault is a barrel vault built of bricks: it is a replica, without monumental elements, of the large powder magazine constructed in the years 1750-1752 facing the tower of Nesmond.
