Les découvertes ont permis d'évoquer une date de construction de cette villa aux alentours du Ve siècle.

History
The Gallo-Roman villa of Palat at Saint-Emilion is known thanks to excavations carried out between 1969 and 1971, supplemented by several subsequent campaigns. This model of villa with a gallery façade and projecting corner rooms is original in Gironde and is usually found in the valleys of the Rhine and Moselle. The excavations made it possible to discover more than 200 m² of mosaics as well as the main façade equipped with a peristyle gallery, several rooms of habitation, a large basin. The discoveries made it possible to suggest a date of construction of this villa around the 5th century.
