Le monument est un édifice cantonal érigé, en 1907, en hommage aux victimes de la guerre de 1870 et transformé après la guerre de 1914-1918. Il représente une statue de la France soutenant un soldat mourant. En 1923, deux statues en bronze sont ajoutées de part et dautre : une femme agenouillée et deux enfants. A lorigine, des canons entouraient le monument de 1870. Ceux-ci ont été déplacés dans le cimetière autour du deuxième monument aux morts.

History
The monument is a cantonal building erected in 1907 in homage to the victims of the 1870 war and transformed after the 1914-1918 war. It represents a statue of France supporting a dying soldier. In 1923, two bronze statues are added on either side: a kneeling woman and two children. Originally, cannons surrounded the 1870 monument. These were moved to the cemetery around the second war memorial.
