Historique
Le monument est érigé en 1922-23, à langle du cimetière municipal. Côté rue, il est composé dune stèle décorée dune sculpture représentant une victoire ailée embrassant un soldat mourant. Côté cimetière, le monument se double dun caveau destiné à regrouper les corps des soldats de Podensac rapatriés des champs de bataille. Il est entouré de canons qui ornaient le monument aux morts de 1870, toujours en place au centre-ville.

History
The monument was erected in 1922-23, at the corner of the municipal cemetery. On the street side, it consists of a stele decorated with a sculpture representing a winged victory embracing a dying soldier. On the cemetery side, the monument is doubled by a vault intended to bring together the bodies of Podensac soldiers repatriated from the battlefields. It is surrounded by cannons which adorned the 1870 war memorial, still in place in the town centre.
