Historique
L'église est accolée, au nord, à l'aile sud du château et à sa cour d'honneur, ce qui laisse supposer qu'elle a peut-être été chapelle seigneuriale avant d'être église paroissiale. Elle est attestée à la fin du XIIIe siècle. Une chapelle seigneuriale, lieu de sépulture des Cosnac et dédiée à la Vierge, a été ajoutée au sud au XVe siècle. Au XVIIIe siècle, conjointement au chantier d'embellissement du château, une tribune permettant de relier l'église aux appartements seigneuriaux est ouvert dans le mur de la nef, face à la chapelle seigneuriale de la Vierge. Le portail d'entrée est également remanié et porte la date de 1721. Au XIXe siècle, des travaux de restauration sont engagés et, en 1844, le conseil de Fabrique commande à un peintre italien installé à Brive, nommé Rossi, le décor de l'église. Il ne reste aujourd'hui que le plafond peint (la voûte en bois a remplacé une voûte d'ogives dont il ne reste que des traces sur les murs de la nef à un époque indéterminée). Les décors des murs de la nef ont été retirés par un curé au milieu du XXe siècle.
Description
Construite en grès rouge et gris local, couvert d'un toit à deux versants en ardoise, elle présente une nef unique à chevet plat. La façade ouest est surmontée d'un clocher-mur à trois baies.

History
The church is attached to the north of the south wing of the castle and its courtyard, which suggests that it may have been a seigneurial chapel before becoming a parish church. It is attested to at the end of the 13th century. A seigneurial chapel, place of burial for the Cosnac family and dedicated to the Virgin, was added to the south in the 15th century. In the 18th century, jointly with the work on the embellishment of the castle, a gallery was opened in the wall of the nave to connect the church to the seigneurial apartments, facing the seigneurial chapel of the Virgin. The entrance portal is also remodelled and bears the date 1721. In the 19th century, restoration work was undertaken and, in 1844, the council of the Fabrique commissioned a painter named Rossi, an Italian established in Brive, to decorate the church. Today only the painted ceiling remains (the wooden vault replaced a rib vault of which only traces remain on the walls of the nave at an undetermined date). The decorations on the walls of the nave were removed by a priest in the middle of the 20th century.
Description
Built in local red and grey sandstone, roofed with a two-slope slate roof, it presents a single nave with a flat chevet. The west façade is surmounted by a porch tower with three openings.
