Le café-salle de spectacle fut un lieu de vie très important pour la commune de Chérac. Des évènements variés : orchestres, spectacles, dancing, expositions artistiques, animèrent lendroit des années 1930 jusquà la fin des années 1960. Entre 1937 et 1953, Ismaël Villeger, qui dirigeait la maison, orna de manière originale la façade du café en récupérant des milliers de tessons de vaisselle assemblés en ciment armé, à la manière dune mosaïque. Les carreaux sont collés sur les murs à la façon dun carrelage. Un décor identique se retrouve à lintérieur du bâtiment (cheminées, mobilier).

History
The café-performance hall was a very important meeting place for the commune of Chérac. Varied events: orchestras, shows, dancing, artistic exhibitions, animated the place from the 1930s until the end of the 1960s. Between 1937 and 1953, Ismaël Villeger, who ran the establishment, decorated the café façade in an original manner by recovering thousands of crockery shards assembled in reinforced cement, in the manner of a mosaic.
