Historique
Vicairie perpétuelle unie autrefois au chapitre cathédral de Saintes, l'édifice faisait partie de l'archiprêtré de Jarnac. D'origine 12e siècle, l'église fut incendiée et reconstruite. Le clocher remonte au 16e siècle tout comme le portail. Des chapelles furent appliquées sur les côtés de la deuxième travée de la nef : à l'époque romane, travée sous clocher sud à coupole sur pendentifs avec trou pour les cloches ; aux 14e et 15e siècles, au nord, travée voûtée d'ogives. Des travaux conséquents furent entrepris dans la seconde moitié du 19e siècle. Le choeur est voûté d'un cul de four en brique. Le portail de la façade, en plein cintre, a conservé un riche décor de feuillages sur les tailloirs et les chapiteaux. De nombreuses traces de graffiti sont lisibles.

History
Perpetual vicarage formerly united to the cathedral chapter of Saintes, the building was part of the archpresbytery of Jarnac. Of 12th-century origin, the church was burned and rebuilt. The bell tower dates from the 16th century as does the portal. Chapels were applied to the sides of the second bay of the nave: in the Romanesque period, bay under south bell tower with dome on pendentives with an opening for the bells; in the 14th and 15th centuries, to the north, bay vaulted with ribs. Substantial works were undertaken in the second half of the 19th century. The choir is vaulted with a brick cul-de-four. The portal of the façade, in round arch, has retained rich foliate decoration on the tailloirs and capitals. Numerous traces of graffiti are legible.
