History
Founded in 1484, the chapter of Saint-Chamant was installed in buildings comprising a church decorated with choir stalls and paintings, a chapter house, lodgings and services around a cloister court, and gardens. Inside and outside, there remain elements of construction and decoration, notably the stone spiral staircase, the stone opening frames with dressed stonework, the monumental fireplaces and an oven.
