History
Belaye is part of the temporality of the bishop of Cahors and becomes the seat of one of the fourteen archpresbyterates of the diocese. Hence the construction of the large church from the middle of the 14th century, which does not appear to have been completed until around 1480. In 1688, the archpriest of Belaye is entrusted to the Lazarists who, at the beginning of the 18th century, give the church the appearance it retains today. The plan is regular: nave and aisles, choir and apse with three facets. The facades underwent numerous alterations in the 18th century. A large retable was installed in 1858, completing the modification of the sanctuary.
