Dès 1846, date de la construction des locaux de remonte des chevaux de l'Armée, Tarbes devient le fief de la cavalerie légère. Ces locaux seront déménagés en 1857 au voisinage des haras et du quartier Larrey et prirent dès lors le nom de quartier Foix-Lescun. L'aspect architectural de ces constructions de la Remonte présente une grande similitude avec le quartier Larrey : deux corps de garde à l'entrée, un grand bâtiment à deux étages sur rez-de-chaussée dans l'axe de l'allée centrale et de part et d'autre, en parallèle de cette allée, deux ailes (anciennes écuries). Le style est épuré : arcatures en rez-de-chaussée, ouvertures sobres.

History
From 1846, the date of construction of the cavalry remount depot, Tarbes became the stronghold of light cavalry. These premises were moved in 1857 to the vicinity of the studs and Larrey barracks and from then on took the name of Foix-Lescun barracks. The architectural appearance of these Remount constructions presents great similarity with Larrey barracks: two guard houses at the entrance, a large two-storey building over ground floor in the axis of the central alley and on either side, parallel to this alley, two wings (former stables). The style is refined: arcading on the ground floor, plain openings.
