Historique
Ancien palais épiscopal, occupant l'extrémité sud-ouest de l'ensemble fortifié épiscopal. Dans son aspect actuel, le palais semble remonter au 17e siècle, reconstruit après les destructions dues aux guerres de Religion. L'aile ouest conserve dans sa partie basse des salles voûtées qui pourraient remonter au Moyen-Age. L'ensemble a été remanié au 19e siècle, avec notamment la construction des ailes de bureaux qui relient le palais à la façade ouest de la cathédrale. Le petit salon dit "chambre de l'évêque" présente un décor typiquement Rocaille du milieu du 18e siècle. Aux quatre angles, quatre médaillons ovales, peints sur carton ou directement sur l'enduit du mur, représentent des paysages avec ruines. Côté nord, une alcôve est revêtue de miroirs qui, face à un autre miroir au-dessus de la cheminée, multiplient les jeux de perspective dans cette pièce exiguë.

History
Former episcopal palace, occupying the south-west extremity of the episcopal fortified complex. In its present aspect, the palace appears to date from the 17th century, rebuilt after the destructions due to the Wars of Religion. The west wing preserves in its lower part vaulted rooms which could date from the Middle Ages. The whole was altered in the 19th century, notably with the construction of the office wings which link the palace to the west facade of the cathedral. The small room known as "bishop's chamber" presents decoration typically Rocaille of the mid-18th century. At the four corners, four oval medallions, painted on board or directly on the render of the wall, represent landscapes with ruins. On the north side, an alcove is lined with mirrors which, facing another mirror above the fireplace, multiply the interplay of perspective in this cramped room.
