Historique
Remplaçant une première gare datant de 1858, la gare des Brotteaux est construite de 1904 à 1908 par l'ingénieur Victor-Louis Rascol et l'architecte Paul d'Arbaut pour la Compagnie des chemins de fer du PLM. Gare de raccordement entre les lignes Paris-Marseille et Lyon-Genève, elle est désaffectée après l'ouverture de la nouvelle gare TGV de La Part-Dieu. La halle à charpente métallique a été démolie. Le bâtiment des voyageurs conserve son décor d'époque avec, représentant des paysages des lignes desservies, des toiles dues aux peintres Charles Lacour, Antoine Barbier, C. Gitrier et Clovis Terreire. Ce bâtiment, qui a été réhabilité en 1988 par l'architecte Yves Heskia, abrite actuellement un hôtel des ventes, des bureaux et un restaurant.

History
Replacing an earlier station dating from 1858, Brotteaux station was built from 1904 to 1908 by engineer Victor-Louis Rascol and architect Paul d'Arbaut for the PLM Railway Company. A connection station between the Paris-Marseille and Lyon-Geneva lines, it fell into disuse after the opening of the new TGV station at La Part-Dieu. The metal-framed hall was demolished. The passenger building retains its period decoration with, representing landscapes of the served lines, canvases by painters Charles Lacour, Antoine Barbier, C. Gitrier and Clovis Terreire. This building, which was rehabilitated in 1988 by architect Yves Heskia, currently houses an auction house, offices and a restaurant.
