Due to the increase in population, a new parish is created in this district and, on land ceded by the Civil Hospitals of Lyon, the municipal council launches a competition won by the architect Christophe Crépet. The works are carried out from 1841 to 1843, but the construction quickly requires restoration due to architectural defects. In Neo-classical style, the building presents a plan in Latin cross, with a cupola above the crossing of the transept and a bell tower beyond the chevet. Stone from Villebois was used for the remarkable elements, including the façade which presents a hexastyle portico of Doric order, surmounted by a triangular pediment. The interior presents a nave and two aisles. The barrel vaults are supported by an Ionic colonnade. Christophe Crépet had planned a decorative programme which was never realized as a measure of economy. In 1892, the works of interior decoration were realized by the architect Sainte-Marie Perrin. Lucien Bégule creates the stained-glass window of the cupola which receives painted decoration by Etienne Couvert in 1893-1894. The cul de four is decorated in the early 20th century. The programme of stained-glass windows of the lateral walls was realized by Emile Bégule and produced in the Grenoble workshops Balmet in 1932. In 1953, the reorganization of the choir is entrusted to the ACMH Pierre Prunet.
