Maison de la Culture et de la Jeunesse faisant partie du projet Firminy-vert, réalisé par Le Corbusier entre 1953 et 1962 à l'instigation d'Eugène Caudius-Petit, maire de la ville. Lors d'un premier projet, l'élévation sert d'auvent pour la tribune du stade mais les deux projets sont ensuite dissociés. Le Corbusier conserve cependant le parti architectural de cette contrainte, réalisant, de 1961 à 1965, un édifice rectangulaire long de 112 mètres avec une toiture suspendue de béton cellulaire, reposant sur des câbles. L'aménagement intérieur est réalisé par l'architecte Pierre Guariche. Le pignon sud est orné d'un moulage signé de Le Corbusier. Rebaptisé "Espace Le Corbusier", l'édifice est toujours utilisé comme centre culturel.

History
House of Culture and Youth forming part of the Firminy-vert project, carried out by Le Corbusier between 1953 and 1962 at the instigation of Eugène Claudius-Petit, mayor of the town. In an initial project, the elevation serves as an awning for the stadium tribune but the two projects are subsequently separated. Le Corbusier nevertheless retains the architectural principle of this constraint, creating, from 1961 to 1965, a rectangular building one hundred and twelve metres long with a suspended cellular concrete roof, resting on cables. The interior layout was carried out by architect Pierre Guariche. The south gable is adorned with a casting signed by Le Corbusier. Renamed "Espace Le Corbusier", the building is still used as a cultural centre.
