Construction du château commencée par Louise de Montmorency dans la première moitié du 16e siècle. Aménagement du château achevé entre 1642 et 1650 par l'architecte Le Muet selon un plan symètrique en U. Les dépendances ont été élevées parallèlement aux travaux menés sur le château par le même architecte. L'ordonnance classique et régulière des trois bâtiments formant les communs complète l'ensemble bâti du château. La chapelle est un ancien lieu de pélerinage du 13e siècle, rebâti en 1832. Le parc a bénéficié de travaux hydrauliques importants donnant naissance au système de douves avec le canal.

History
Construction of the château begun by Louise de Montmorency in the first half of the 16th century. Completion of the château between 1642 and 1650 by the architect Le Muet according to a symmetrical U-shaped plan.
