Historique
L'église dépendait du diocèse de Poitiers. Le chevet fut vraisemblablement construit en premier, au 12e siècle, tandis que la façade comporte un portail de style gothique et doit dater du siècle suivant. History
The church was dependent on the diocese of Poitiers. The chevet was probably built first, in the 12th century, while the facade has a portal of gothic style and must date from the following century. The reinforcement system under the old bell tower, between choir and nave, appears to be from the end of the gothic period. The present bell tower, a simple campanile, goes back perhaps to the period following the Wars of Religion. In 1865, the church was restored, the gallery built and perhaps the present brick and plaster vault. The plan presents a nave of two bays, without aisles, a false crossing and a round apse without absidioles. The lateral walls must have been rebuilt and the openings modified (except that of the north, in the second bay of the nave).
