Historique
L'église dépendait de l'ancien diocèse de Poitiers et de l'abbaye de Nanteuil. L'édifice date de la fin du 12e siècle. Le plan comprend une nef couverte d'un berceau surbaissé en brique, séparée du choeur rectangulaire par une arcade en plein cintre sur pilastres. Sur la façade, deux larges arcades se profilent sur les côtés. Elles retombent sur les maçonneries latérales et sur les pilastres établis sur un avant-corps renfermant la porte sans ébrasement, en plein cintre, avec un cordon circulaire et de lourdes impostes sur les jambages. Un bandeau interrompu est surmonté par un fronton triangulaire dont les rampants sont ornés de deux rangs de billettes. Au-dessus de l'arc en mitre s'inscrit une baie ajourée d'une petite arcade accompagnée de colonnettes. L'ouverture pour la cloche est percée sur le pignon tronqué.

History
The church was dependent on the former diocese of Poitiers and the abbey of Nanteuil. The edifice dates from the end of the 12th century. The plan comprises a nave covered with a depressed barrel vault in brick, separated from the rectangular choir by a round arch arcade on pilasters. On the façade, two broad arcades are profiled on the sides. They rest on the lateral masonry and on pilasters established on a projecting section enclosing the door without splay, in round arch, with a circular string course and heavy imposts on the jambs. A string course interrupted is surmounted by a triangular pediment whose rampants are ornated with two rows of billets. Above the mitre arch is inscribed an opening with a small arcade accompanied by small columns. The opening for the bell is pierced through the truncated gable.
