Historique
La restauration du château fut confiée à Félix Perrin, ainsi que la commande d'une chapelle, érigée en 1880 dans le parc en l'honneur de la baronne Hélène, défunte. La première pierre est posée en 1880. Le château se compose de trois ailes formant un plan en U. L'aile centrale reliant les deux corps de bâtiments latéraux se compose, au rez-de-chaussée, d'une galerie ouverte par trois grandes arcades du côté de la cour intérieure. Cette aile est cantonnée de deux tours délimitant, sur la façade sud, des pavillons hors-oeuvre. Celui de l'angle sud-est, plus petit, pourrait être un vestige d'un château antérieur. Il est en effet couronné de corbeaux et pourvu de bretèches. La chapelle s'élève à gauche du château, côté nord. C'est un édifice modeste à nef unique et abside semi-circulaire, orné d'un décor de peintures, vitrail et mosaïque. Elle est précédée d'un narthex. La façade se termine en fronton triangulaire, comme l'avant-corps, plus bas. Elle est surmontée d'une croix. Dans le fronton s'inscrit une étoile à cinq branches. Le chevet porte un pignon percé d'un campanile. A l'intérieur, de part et d'autre de l'autel, sont peints des anges portant les instruments de la Passion. Tout autour de la chapelle, la base des murs est garnie d'un lambris de chêne dans lequel s'inserrent de petits cadres présentant les quatorze stations avec croix et chiffre. Le vitrail occidental a été réalisé à partir d'un dessin du père de l'architecte qui avait composé le thème en 1833 pour décorer les fonts baptismaux de l'église d'Aisnay. Dans la partie supérieure du vitrail apparaissent les allégories des trois vertus : Foi, Charité, Espérance. Au-dessus, des scènes illustrent ces vertus.

History

The central wing connecting the two lateral buildings comprises, on the ground floor, an open gallery with three large arcades on the side of the interior courtyard. This wing is flanked by two towers delimiting, on the south façade, free-standing pavilions. The one at the south-east corner, smaller, could be a vestige of an earlier château. It is indeed crowned with corbels and provided with bretèches. The chapel rises to the left of the château, on the north side. It is a modest building with a single nave and semi-circular apse, decorated with paintings, stained glass and mosaic. It is preceded by a narthex. The façade terminates in a triangular pediment, like the fore-part, which is lower. It is surmounted by a cross. In the pediment is inscribed a five-pointed star. The chevet bears a gable pierced with a campanile. Inside, on either side of the altar, are painted angels bearing the instruments of the Passion. All around the chapel, the base of the walls is furnished with oak timber lining in which are set small frames presenting the fourteen stations with cross and numeral. The western stained glass was made from a drawing by the father of the architect who had composed the theme in 1833 to decorate the baptismal font of the church of Aisnay. In the upper part of the stained glass appear the allegories of the three virtues: Faith, Charity, Hope. Above, scenes illustrate these virtues.
