Historique

History
This building, mentioned in 1156 among the possessions of Cassan, recalls by its interior decoration the church of this Benedictine priory. The nave underwent major restoration in 1867. This intervention did not affect the sanctuary whose interior decor is intact. The building has a single nave of three bays. Pillars and capitals date from the 19th-century restoration, as does the barrel vault. The walls are old, crowned with a billet moulding cornice, partly from reused materials. Sanctuary and choir are old. The round pillars set against the wall present capitals carved in Corinthian style. The sanctuary is five-sided. Barrel vault. Inside the oblique faces are two polygonal niches, vaulted in a cloister arch and reproducing in miniature the plan of the chevet. A sacristy was added in the 19th century, masking part of the apse on the north side.
