Historique

History
The castle was constructed at the end of the 18th century for the de Nattes family of Montpellier. Of square plan, the edifice is formed of four bodies of buildings surrounding a courtyard and flanked with set-back pavilions. Entry to the central courtyard is effected by a monumental porch and a passage vaulted with a basket-handle arch. The east wing is preceded by a courtyard called the "court of the lions". This façade is flanked by two strongly set-back pavilions. At the centre rises a monumental porch adorned with colossal pilasters with Ionic capitals, surmounted by a circular pediment. Under this porch opens the basket-handle arch passage which allows access to the interior courtyard. The north wing overlooks the park which surrounds the castle to the north. This façade is also flanked by two pavilions in strong set-back. Its sole decoration consists of masks which ornament the cornice and the keystones of the windows. A high flight of steps allows access to it. The interior has not preserved any old decoration.
