Historique
La rareté des coqs sur les croix dans le Languedoc ainsi que l'exécution en pierre, font l'intérêt de ce monument en dépit de sa faible ancienneté. Sur plan carré, le socle est flanqué de quatre fortes consoles, les volutes vers le bas. La tranche de ces consoles est décorée de petits tableaux en creux. Passant ensuite à l'octogone, ce piédestal porte la date 1776 gravée en creux, et les lettres BER PU. Au-dessus du socle, se trouve d'abord un petit massif carré passant à l'octogone. Il supporte une colonne galbée à chapiteau octogonal. La croix est posée sur cette colonne. Sa section est carrée, les arêtes chanfreinées, sauf aux extrémités qui, de la sorte, paraissent renflées. Au sommet est perché un coq sculpté sans arrondi, la crête marquée par des dents égales, les plumes indiquées par des traits infléchis.

History
The rarity of cocks on crosses in Languedoc as well as the execution in stone, make the interest of this monument despite its slight age. On square plan, the base is flanked by four stout consoles, the volutes downwards. The edge of these consoles is decorated with small recessed panels. Passing next to the octagon, this pedestal bears the date 1776 engraved in relief, and the letters BER PU. Above the base, there is first a small square mass passing to the octagon. It supports a swelled column with octagonal capital. The cross is placed on this column. Its section is square, the edges chamfered, except at the ends which, in this way, appear swollen. At the top is perched a sculpted cock without rounding, the crest marked by equal teeth, the feathers indicated by inflected lines.
