History

Built probably in the 13th century, the castle was rebuilt in the 18th. It was in this dwelling that the De Molleville family lived for more than three centuries (1531-1875), some of whom held the office of capitoul at Toulouse. The building has two storeys over ground floor and a roof space storey. Of massive rectangular plan, it is flanked by four quadrangular towers. It is preceded, to the east, by a courtyard closed to the south by outbuildings, to the north and east by a crenellated enclosure wall. On the east wall opens the main door, surmounted by the arms of Molleville. On the west façade a modern secondary entrance has been created which replaced a 17th-century door, partly concealed by the south-west tower. The whole of the openings date from 1757, with the exception of two cross-mullioned windows on the north wall. In the axis of the east façade, at the level of the roof space, a bretèche defended the entrance to the castle.
