Historique
Mirailles était un domaine de l'abbaye de Lagrasse. La "villa" est mentionnée en 1287. Le plan est à une nef avec chevet plat séparé de la nef par un mur aujourd'hui ruiné. Chevet et nef sont de construction différente, avec absence de liaison entre les assises à l'aplomb du mur qui devait contenir l'arc triomphal. Le sanctuaire, sans doute du début du 11e siècle, présente des moellons dégrossis au marteau, avec traces de mortier de chaux. A l'extérieur, l'ornementation lombarde du chevet couvre le mur oriental et les murs latéraux. Le mur oriental est divisé en trois panneaux inégaux, avec arcatures doubles reposant sur deux lesennes étroites et peu saillantes. History
Mirailles was an estate of the abbey of Lagrasse. The "villa" is mentioned in 1287. The plan consists of a single nave with a flat chevet separated from the nave by a wall today in ruins. The chevet and nave are of different construction, with absence of bonding between the courses at the level of the wall which was to contain the triumphal arch. The sanctuary, probably from the early 11th century, presents rubble stone roughly dressed with hammer, with traces of lime mortar. On the exterior, the Lombard ornamentation of the chevet covers the eastern wall and the side walls. The eastern wall is divided into three unequal panels, with double arcatures resting on two narrow and slightly projecting lesenes. The sanctuary was to be vaulted with a barrel vault, according to the stone rubble abutments still visible. The nave could date from the late 11th century. The walls are not bonded to those of the sanctuary. Their stonework is approximately similar but the mode of construction differs.
