Au début de la guerre de Cent ans, le bourg de Lagrasse ne se trouvait pas en état de défense. At the beginning of the Hundred Years War, the town of Lagrasse was not in a state of defence. The ditches which encircled the town, mentioned by a few documents of the early 14th century, had been gradually transformed into gardens and orchards.
