Historique

History
The original town hall being located at the site of a neighbouring house. This premises, too cramped, was exchanged in 1584 for a new house in which the consular house was established in 1596. Too dilapidated, the building was rebuilt in 1796. In 1938, a new town hall was constructed in the new district. The façade rises two storeys over a ground floor. A single flight of 23 steps gives access to the first floor. The banister presents parallel balusters curved in a crosier at top and bottom, interlaced two by two by an oval with beading. The panels are linked to the handrail by cross-braces in Saint-Andrew's cross. Between the corridor and the staircase, the interior door is surmounted by an overdoor under a basket-handle arch. The volutes are disposed symmetrically, drawing a broad palmette. The sills of the windows of the first floor are all identical. This is still, in the full Directory style, an application of earlier styles. The composition, based on volutes and crescents, is disposed symmetrically around a central flower with three petals.
