Il ne subsiste de ce pont, constitué d'une seule arche, qu'un reste de voûte en plein cintre. Il devait être maçonné à joints secs. Les culées, construites en grosses pierres, sont encore visibles. Cet ouvrage portait une voie pavée dont on aperçoit la trace de part et d'autre sur quelques mètres. Autour du pont se trouvent les pierres qui constituaient sa maçonnerie. Le Limousin conserve de nombreux vestiges de ponts anciens à une seule arche. Ces ouvrages, souvent qualifiés de "pont romain", sont datés pour certains de l'époque romaine. Pour les autres, leur construction s'étale du 12e au 18e siècle. Celui de Gentioux est surnommé "pont romain", mais aucun élément ne permet de le dater avec certitude.

History
Of this bridge, consisting of a single arch, only a fragment of round arch vault remains. It must have been built with dry mortar joints. The abutments, built of large stones, are still visible. This structure carried a paved way, traces of which can be seen for several metres on either side. Around the bridge are the stones that formed its masonry. Limousin preserves numerous remains of ancient single-arch bridges. These structures, often called "Roman bridges", are dated in some cases to the Roman period. For others, their construction spans from the 12th to the 18th century. The one at Gentioux is nicknamed "Roman bridge", but no element allows it to be dated with certainty.
